The Rocks, Koala Museum, 10am - 6pm, Free, Age: All
WWF Australia asks visitors to imagine a world without koalas when it stages a free pop-up exhibition.
Set in the future, the Koala Museum est.2050 will enable visitors to experience what world without koalas in the wild could be like.
In this future, the only place to see a koala might be in a museum.
Visitors will learn about what they can do to prevent this projected extinction from taking place. They’ll be able to sign a petition calling for action to protect koala habitats and share their action on social media.
WWF Australia estimates koala numbers in the state have plummeted to less than 20,000. Koalas numbered in the millions just 200 years ago.
On current projections, koalas are on track to be extinct in NSW by as early as 2050.
