Heya.

Little Day Out is a curated list of fun things to do for kids in Sydney. We save you time by selecting just six weekend activities we think are the best of what's on

Darling Harbour - Little Darlings Night Owls Kids Film Festival, 5pm - 10pm, Free

Darling Harbour - Little Darlings Night Owls Kids Film Festival, 5pm - 10pm, Free

Night Owls returns for its seventh year of big screen adventure, bravery, belly laughs, happy endings, plot twists, supervillains and more, all wrapped up in movie magic on the Village Green North at Darling Quarter.

Bring your family and ring some friends to catch up for a relaxing night of free cinema under the stars. There’s something to put a smile on everyone’s face, with ’90s classics like Home Alone for the adults to reminisce over, and modern-day favourites including Moana, Despicable Me 3, The Lego Batman Movie and Beauty and the Beast.

Night Owls runs from Friday, 5 January to Sunday, 21 January – that’s 17 big nights of entertainment to choose from!

Singing sensation Lah-Lah returns to curate a line up of kids’ entertainment – there’s someone new every night, from 6pm to 6:30pm (and Lah-Lah will bring her infectious energy and enthusiasm to perform on stage on the closing night!)

A superb program of short kids’ films from Little Big Shots will screen at 6:30pm each night, with the family feature film rolling from 6:45pm.

If it’s after-hours films for the big kids in the audience you’re after, they start at 8:30pm every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

So pack a picnic, throw down some blankets and secure your spot for the best family-friendly summer experience Sydney has to offer.

Check the online program for more details or keep an eye out for copies of the festival guide at Darling Quarter, as well as restaurants and cafes in the CBD.
