The smooth Festival of Chocolate in The Rocks, Sydney is Australia’s biggest 2 day celebration of sweet indulgences on Sat 12 & Sun 13 August 2017

From rich, dark bean-to-bar chocolate made by hand to mouth-watering macaroons, silky smooth gelato, doughnuts filled with Nutella and profiteroles hand piped with velvety chocolate custard the smooth Festival of Chocolate will bring your dessert-craving dreams to life!

This year’s festival will excite your senses with:

The Lindt Lounge: with your chance to personalise your own Lindt Excellence Bar and win a $10,000 Diamond Ring inspired by Lindt Excellence and created by Australian Chocolate Diamonds.

Cooking demonstrations in The Callebaut Test Kitchen Stage proudly built by Knebel Kitchen from industry heavyweights Kirsten Tibballs (Savour School Melbourne and author of “Chocolate”) Jean Michel Raynaud (La Renaissance Patisserie and author of “The French Baker), Jodie Van Der Velden (Josophan’s Fine Chocolates), Giovana Falanga and Riccardo Falcone (Executive Pastry Chef, Urban Purveyor Group)

The Baci Chocolatier’s Quarters featuring:

A Pop Up Baci Chocolate Shop and over 10 artisan chocolatiers showcasing chocolate made with skill, artistry and passion.

Acclaimed Pastry Chef Dean Gibson returning to the Chocolatiers' Quarters create “Bone Shaker” a moving chocolate showpiece created from over 180 kilos of Callebaut chocolate. Having been in production since January and boasting its own production team including an engineer, Bone Shaker is not to be missed.

Located in the Cargo Hall, Overseas Passenger Terminal

Mr Black Espresso Martini Bar – Sit back, with Sydney Harbour and the Opera House as your view and sip on a decadent Mr Black Espresso Martini – topped with a delicious Tiramisu donut topper from Nutie Donuts! Try the "smooth Chocolate Ale" created exclusively for the festival by Endeavour Beer and Tap Rooms, The Rocks while you groove to smooth tunes!

Relax and indulge with the smooth Angels all day at the smooth Relaxation Station. Sit down, relax and meet the smoothfm on air talent*,snap a pic and upload it to socials with #smoothfm for a free souvenir picture and Lindor Ball.

The Sydney Props Specialists Jungle Laneway

An ode to the history of chocolate, let Sydney Props Specialists take you on a journey into an Aztec jungle. Special guest acclaimed chocolatier Jodie Van Der Velden will be scuplting a "mini chocolate jungle" entirely out of Callebaut Belgian Chocolate!

Parking: Wilson Parking - 220 George Street
Best way to get there? Please note if you're travelling on Sunday to the festival there will be interruptions in the city due to Sydney City2 Surf event. Options to get to the rocks via Circular Quay train, ferry and bus station is right on our doorstep so catch a train, ferry or bus to the festival for a fuss free experience.

To ensure the safe operation of the event, there will be special event clearways and road closures in The Rocks on Saturday 12 August and Sunday 13 August 2017.

Road closures will be in place from 4am on Saturday 12 August to 11.59pm on Sunday 13 August on:

  • George Street from Essex Street to Hickson Road (both directions)
  • Hickson Road from George Street to OPT elevated roadway (both directions)

Special event clearways will operate from 3am on Saturday 12 August 2017 to 11.59pm on Sunday 13 August on:

  • Circular Quay West Road between Argyle St and the roundabout
  • George Street between Alfred Street and Hickson Road
  • Argyle St between George St and Circular Quay West Road
  • Hickson Road between George Street and OPT elevated roadway
  • Harrington Street between Argyle Street and Suez Canal (police vehicles excepted).

Special event clearways are no parking zones. This includes motorcycles and vehicles with parking permits (including RMS Mobility Parking Scheme permits). Check signs before parking, as vehicles left in special event clearways will be towed, and a towing fee applies
